Very interesting and similar to my experience.
I started transitioning a few years back and it began with clothing.
At the beginning I found it very difficult to buy and wear “women’s” clothing, yet knew that I must challenged my fears.
It has been and still is difficult at times, because of social conditioning—however my desire to be authentic propels me and I just do it.
Also bought myself a sewing machine a while back and took some lessons, so I can do many of my own modifications and also create some special pieces.
At this point I can’t even wear men’s clothing at all anymore. It just doesn’t feel right and it’s not who I am anymore.
I still have a couple bins of my favourite pieces from that era and I know soon they must go to someone who will appreciate them.
