I really like this approach!

I’m debating whether or not to even get a job, even though I’m unemployed, because of just a few of my experiences and especially now what I’ve read in this article.

Your approach makes total sense to me!

If I do decide to look for a job, I will definitely do it this way.

I’m actually leaning towards building a business based on my skills and experience. I’ve been freelancing for years and it has been good in the sense of creativity and freedom, however, it’s learning how to self promote and secure work that I struggled with.

That’s why I’m thinking to work on that rather than wasting a lot of energy on trying to find a job I probably don’t want anyways.
