This has helped me to understand what happened years ago when a very successful company I worked for changed to be more “corporate”, which ultimately became it’s demise.

Management became more interested in departmental budgets and the bonuses for cost cutting than the passion and creativity that original built the company.

I felt this was wrong, but didn’t fully grasp it until I read what you’ve written.
