Great article. I like how you simply defined the main components of journaling and give it purpose.
I’ve been journaling for the last few years and it has become both a habit and a benefit. I believe that it’s a fundamental element of my recovery and transformation.
I journal most every morning, however, I’ll also write at others times throughout the day and even sometimes in the middle of the night when inspired to do so.
Using code letters and symbols helps me to denote certain behaviours and events that I want to track. I even use a different colour pen and/or doodling to highlight specific insights, which makes it easier to review.
I’ll also write summaries in my journal when reading impactful articles and books.
For me journaling is very helpful, now that I’ve made a regular practice of it.
